Alexanders House children's home in Sunderland catering for 3 children aged 8-18 years old. We are looking to appoint a Residential Care Worker to cover 5 months of Maternity Leave starting 1st May 2026 - 1st Oct 2026.
The rate of pay is £14.00 per hour working 36 hours per week (£26208) per annum with 201.4 hours of holiday per calendar year (84 hours of holiday for the 5 month period). You work 2 shifts per week from 10am - 10.30am and will be paid a sleep in allowance of £62.50 per shift.
You will be joining a team of 9 other staff.
We ask if candidates are applying they only do so if the have a minimum of 1- 2 years experience working in a residential setting and have a level 3 Residential Childcare qualification, this is a must.

Bank Staff
We are also looking for anyone who may also be interested in bank work. This could consist of doing full 24 hours shifts or a mixture of day shifts/nights shifts of 6 hours - 12 hours etc. whenever there is the need for sickness cover, weekend cover etc.
There is no guarantee of set hours it will be on an as and when basis. Again a Residential Childcare Qualification Level 3 is required. If you are interested in this role please state this on your application form.
